Women suffer from arthrosis of the knee joints like men. Arthrosis usually develops after forty years, although sometimes there are cases of "young" gonarthrosis - injuries or professional athletes.
Hard arthrosis of the knee joints is the most difficult in whole women, as well as those with strong varicos on the legs.
The disease begins gradually, with little knee pain while walking. The hardest thing for patients is landing or climbing the stairs. Even pain often occurs when a person has to get out of a sitting position (a chair or a bed) - the first steps are usually the most painful. Then, if different, the pain in the knee is slightly reduced. But a long walk and then the pains return.
In rest, sitting and lying down, the pain usually disappears. The initial pain of the arthrosis of the knee joints does not mean "in one second", ie they do not appear immediately in one day. The period of intense pain in gonarthrosis was almost necessarily preceded by a period of months or even perennial, non -frequency pains that occur exclusively by long walking, cargo, walking on the stairs, or rising from the chair.
If the pain suddenly, in one day, or in addition to one second, but before the knee was not pain, this usually indicates other illness or damage. For example, to refute meniscus, violation of the synovial shell of the joint, or the cartilage cartilage (the cartilage tract of the body) on the cartilage.
However, in the case of gonarthrosis, such problems can occur and then they are complicated by joint treatment and cause sharp pain. And then the knee arthrosis should be treated, taking into account the above complications. But in the beginning, the diagnosis of "arthrosis of the knee joint" is reinforced precisely by the gradual development of the symptoms of pain.
The first stage of arthrosis of the knee joint
Occasionally, intense pain at first in the first stages of gonarthrosis, the knee bones retain their original shape and are almost not deformed. But the joint itself was slightly swollen.
Such a change in the shape of the joint can initially be associated with synovitis (synovitis accumulation in the knee of an abnormal fluid).
If the fluids in the joint gain too much, they even spread to the back of the knee, the popliteal fossa. Such accumulation of fluid is called Baker cyst. The term "Baker cyst" often scares patients because the name leads many people to the idea of talking about the oncology process. However, this state has nothing to do with oncology and tumors. Baker's cyst is just an expression that means a liquid accumulation in the knee. Occasionally, when it accumulates too many of these fluids, it breaks under and below it - to the back of the lower leg. But even in this case, nothing is terrible: Baker's cyst is usually easily reduced when introducing anti -inflammatory drugs or hormonal drugs into the knees. Accordingly, Baker's cyst should be treated. But you don't have to operate in any case!
The second stage of arthrosis of the knee joint
In the second phase of gonarthrosis, a few months later from the beginning of the disease, the knee pain becomes clearly stronger. The pain occurs from the minimum load or after that.
That is, the pain is now caused by almost any movement of the affected knee. But especially after a long load, the knee hurts after a long walk, even wearing low weights.
After quite a long rest, the pain usually disappears, but it occurs again during the next movement.
At about the same time in the knee joint, a crunch is added to the pain during movements. It differs significantly from the barely audible clicks and occasionally accompany the individual movement of healthy joints.
As the disease progresses, such crisp, first weakly, becomes more audible and distinctive.
I would like to emphasize once again: I do not have to mix the coarse joint in the joint, almost always with pain, harmless tastes that occur in healthy people and do not accompany pain.
Painless, soft rubbing of the joints can only be the result of weak ligament equipment, or other unique characteristics of the structure of the particular persons may be the result of excessive mobility or other unique characteristics of the joints. Usually such a soft crunch does not threaten anything, has no negative consequences and will not increase the risk of joint disease in the future. Knee joint, arthritis, damage to meniscus, etc. Arthrosis, etc.
In parallel with the pain and the appearance of the crystal, in the second phase of gonarthrosis, the legs in the knees usually be bowed to the leg. When you try to bow your knees to "stop", there is a sharp pain in the joint, and more often the full bend of the knee becomes simply impossible. Occasionally, the knee leans in a 90 degree corner and then has difficulty and pain.
At the same stage of the disease, it becomes noticeable that the joint is deformed - above all, it applies to bone deformations, changes in the shape of the joint bones (when the knee feels, the bones have changed their shape, they become wider and "rough").
In addition, the shape of the joint is exacerbated by the synovitis in the joint of the abnormal fluid. Synovitis is much more common at this stage of gonarthrosis and sometimes expresses much more than the beginning of the disease in the first stage.
The third stage of arthrosis of the knee joint
In the third phase of gonarthrosis, the knee pain in the knee continues to increase. Now the knee is not only when you move and walk. The pain begins to be disturbed even at rest. It is difficult for the patient to find a comfortable situation in bed, arrange the affected knee so that it does not hurt. And yet, finding the right position, one can usually fall asleep. Although, when the joint destruction is combined with circulatory disorders, the joints begin to "twist" in the middle of the night, usually when changing the weather conditions, or as the patients themselves, "rain".
The mobility of the knee joint at this time is minimized. The knee is completely impossible to be more than 90 degrees. And sometimes the knee almost doesn't bend at all. In addition, the option often disappears to the end, ie straighten your leg. In this case, a sick person always has slightly bent legs.
Compared to the second phase, the joint is still deformed in the third stage of gonarthrosis, and in some cases deformation of the "variation" or "valgus" legs develop-the legs obtain an O-shaped or x-shaped shape. As a result, people with similar deformations of legs often become unstable.
